More about Tarla Dalal
A native of Bombay, Mrs. Tarla Dalal is the
World Queen of Vegetarian Cooking. She is the mother of my dear friend who I went to
college with. I remember her telling Renu and myself to learn Indian cooking and we
would just run away and tell her if we learnt cooking we would be expected to cook after
marriage. Her life was centered around her cookbooks and we got to taste the
delicious food after her trials and photo shoots.
What I admire most about her is her very simple recipes in points. She has the
ability of taking complex recipes and simplifying them. She practiced a very simple
life and always told Renu and myself to follow fundamental life values and lead a good and
pure life.
Her
books are the number one selling books of India - a tribute to her dedication to her work.
