We all dream of making the perfect curry.  Curry making is an art and it may take some practice to learn to put the spices together along with seasonings and other flavors.   One easy way is to use per-made curry pastes.
I would recommend the Kashmiri Paste from our store for making curry.  You will need a main ingredient like potato, mushrooms, peas, zucchini, paneer, tofu, boiled eggs or chicken or meat.  I have given instructions at he end of the page on how to use a paste to make curries

Indian food is the UK's favorite cuisine. In the latest Keynote survey, retail sales accounted for 42% of total sales of ethnic foods and was valued at £250m. Indian food now surpasses Chinese food in popularity, with Indian restaurants outnumbering Chinese by two to one.

Pastes are blended ground spices preserved in vegetable oil for freshness, offering a convenient and simple way to make an Indian sauce.

Here are some popular pastes we carry in our online store for India's most popular recipes or dishes or curries

Vegetable Curry Paste which is called Ultimate Curry Paste in our store This is traditionally a Punjabi seasoning where the spices are cooked for a long time to let their flavor and aroma fill the dish. Usually used for dishes to give them a dry spicy flavor.

Vindaloo Curry Sauce The traditional Vindaloo from Goa can be easily prepared with this thick red paste made of rich spices and coriander which impart a spicy ,tangy taste and fragrant aroma. The Recipe suggestion for making the curry is given on the pack. Good with vegetales

Jalfrezi Curry Sauce Meat or vegetables can be cooked in this ready to use curry sauce in just a few steps. Add a cup of this sauce to 10 oz. of meat and cook.

Kashmiri Masala which doubles as a regular curry paste and a Biryani Paste - This paste is traditionally used for any curry dish and may also be used to make Biryanis and roganjosh dishes.

Roganjosh or Kashmiri Curry Paste - Tomato and cardamom are at the heart of this medium spicy sauce dish from the Kashmir region of India. Traditionally made with lamb (Josh or Gosht means lamb), Rogan Josh is equally delicious with chicken, beef or vegetables like potatoes, mushrooms, cauliflower and cheese like paneer and tofu.

Freshly prepared ginger, garlic and (green chilies - optional)  are a must in Indian curries and we carry them in our store -This is a convenient way to use them and many Indian homes will have these stand-bys as they are called.  Powdered ginger and garlic are poor substitutes, as it lacks the juice and the crispness of real ginger. The time taken to peel and chop your ginger and garlic or to compromise your recipe, is saved with this very simple solution, minced ginger and garlic and chili in a jar.

Cooking Indian Curry with pastes - serves 6
1.
Add 1 large fresh chopped onions and sauté them in oil.  You may also add some nuts or raisins at this time - this step is totally optional.  Add 2 large chopped tomatoes and enough garlic paste and ginger paste and the curry paste to taste. Stir well and cook on medium heat until the oil separates from the onions and tomatoes and you can see glistening drops of oil in the pan. Stir occasionally.
2.  Add the main ingredient and steam with a bit of water, stir and mix well. Add more water to your desired consistency and simmer the dish until all the ingredients have absorbed all the flavors.
3.  Add fresh seasonings like coconut milk, yogurt or lime juice, fresh mint or cilantro.  Simmer for the fresh ingredients to blend for about 2 minutes.
4.  The Indian Curry is ready to be served.
